The storm water detention basins are designed to collect storm water and regulate the volume of water exiting. There are five storm water detention basins at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The project consisted of cleaning and clearing the basins to increase their holding capacity and prevent the run-off of sediments towards the natural channels. In addition, the recovered areas were grassed.
